Origin Stories ~ How & Why Stories ~ Pourquoi Stories"Pourquoi" means "Why" in French. These folktales explain why something looks or behaves the way it does. For example why a snake has no legs, or a leopard has spots. Legends and fables can also be Pourquoi stories.
